Shiraz Mawani will be holding a session at the University of Toronto (Scarborough Campus) on the Philosophy of Du'a after Campus JK ceremonies.

Huzur Mukhi Shiraz Mawani is a graduate of the International Waezeen Training Program of the Institute of Ismaili Studies. He has been involved with Jamati institutions in various capacities for the last 35 years. Shiraz has completed the Intellectual Traditions in Islam Program held by the IIS in Cambridge, UK and has a certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution. He has been sharing his knowledge of world faiths, Islamic civilizations and Ismaili history and doctrines with the Jamat for the last twenty years.

Shiraz continues to impart religious education to Jamati members at all levels by facilitating adult education seminars, conducting workshops for post-secondary students, as well as facilitating Bait ul-Ilm teacher training symposiums and has made presentations in Ta'lim ul-Islam sessions. In addition, Shiraz has been invited to speak to church groups to address misperceptions of Islam post-9/11. His current research interest includes the cultural diversity of religious practices amongst Ismaili Jamats worldwide.
